NEC provides the following services and resources to institutions and agencies developing the Need section of TRIO proposal applications:

Initial Consultation – A personalized Zoom meeting to review the data elements needed to address the Need section scoring criteria and develop a data collection strategy.

Customized Data Collection Spreadsheet – A scoring-aligned spreadsheet designed to help you organize, document, and track the data required for the Need section.

Data Review and Feedback – A comprehensive review of your completed data collection spreadsheet, including targeted feedback, recommendations, and suggestions to strengthen your data presentation.

Census Data Collection Services – If desired, NEC can collect and compile the required census data on your behalf.
Our UB/UBMS Proposal Need Data Review Assistance services are available at $100 per hour, with a minimum purchase of two hours. The two-hour minimum includes:

One initial consultation hour to review the required data elements and data collection spreadsheet, followed by

One hour session to review the completed data and provide feedback and recommendations.
Should additional assistance be needed, including census data collection, additional data reviews, follow-up meetings, or continued consultation, clients may purchase additional hours at the same hourly rate.

Proposal costs are the costs of preparing bids, proposals, or applications on potential Federal and non-Federal awards or projects, including the development of data necessary to support the non-Federal entity’s bids or proposals. Proposal costs of the current accounting period of both successful and unsuccessful bids and proposals normally should be treated as indirect (F&A) costs and allocated currently to all activities of the non-Federal entity.
