Raquel Perez

Ms. Raquel Perez has over 20 years of experience in non-profit leadership and TRIO Programs. She served as the Senior PreCollege Programs Director with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County. In this role, Raquel provided compliance and budget oversight for multiple US Department of Education federal TRIO grants and oversaw a department of over 25 staff. Raquel has also been successful in securing over $4.5 million in funding through federal grants.

 

While at the Boys & Girls Clubs, Raquel was responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the work plans for programs serving low-income and first-generation youth including Talent Search, Upward Bound, Fidelity Internship Program, and multiple scholarship, career, and workforce programs.  Raquel also managed multiple successful programs funded by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America - including Taco Bell Education Programs, AmeriCorps, Gap Foundation’s “This Way Ahead” Job Program, the Hartford College & Career Center, and AT&T ASPIRE Mentoring. 

 

Raquel currently serves as the Associate Director for Common Threads where she manages the SNAP-ED grant for the state of Texas funded by the Health & Human Services Commission. Raquel holds a bachelor's of Arts in sociology and a master's of public administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.
