Why should I attend an NEC Proposal Writing Workshop?

Experience matters. NEC has more than 20 years of experience successfully developing or reviewing federal grant proposals for institutions and agencies throughout the nation—with impressive rates of success:

  • 100% of Upward Bound proposals were funded in the 2022 competition

  • 90% of Upward Bound Math–Science proposals were funded in 2022 (all unfunded proposals had perfect scores and were on the funding band)

  • 92.3% of all proposals developed or reviewed since 2006 were successfully funded (631 of 684 proposals) See more stats here.

And... since we started tracking this data in 2022, more than 75% of NEC Proposal Writing Workshop attendees submitted successful proposals.

Compliance matters. We keep track of the shifting landscape and expectations of the Department of Education and the Department of Labor so we can help you avoid pitfalls that could jeopardize your proposal.

What do previous attendees say about our Proposal Writing Workshops?

In surveys of our Talent Search and Student Support Services Proposal Writing Workshops, attendees provided the following positive feedback:

  • 100% (30/30) said they would recommend the workshop to a friend or colleague.

  • 96.66% (29/30) of respondents thought the content delivered what was promised.

  • 93.33% (28/30) said the information received in the webinar was Very Actionable.

Here are some quotes from the surveys:

"Presenters are very knowledgeable and their experience with TRIO provides a lot of credibility to the information they shared. I liked when they provided real examples from their programs to help us understand the information."

"All of the links and Google Drive resources are wonderful! I would definitely participate in another NEC event."

"This training was by far the BEST TRIO workshop, and I've done SSS, Upward Bound, and Talent Search from other sources and they simply don't compare to the quality, resources, and knowledge. I also appreciated insight into "lost points" and how to improve the answers. The training was worth every penny!"

"NEC always takes my jitters about writing down. I feel more confident after I hear from Ms. Retamozo! 😊"

"I like how each section was broken down and that each section is its own recording."

"The best thing I liked was all the different insights provided. Why you need to pay special attention to certain details because they lost points or readers made a comment about xyz. I thought that was extremely helpful."
