NOSOTROS Education Center Announces Successful Results for Student Support Services Clients with Over $86 Million in Grants Awarded
Company to Offer Expanded Services This Year
(DALLAS) -- NOSOTROS Education Center (NEC) assisted 45 colleges and universities in writing 60 successful federally funded grant proposals during the 2020 Student Support Services (SSS) grant cycle, the company announced today. NEC assisted clients in securing more than $86 million to help low-income and first-generation college students in achieving their dreams of a college degree. The Department of Education announced funding awards on August 5, 2020.
This grant cycle, NEC developed or reviewed 48 continuation Student Support Services grants, all of which were funded. Also, 14 new grant proposals were submitted with 12 gaining funding and one placed in the funding band with the potential to receive funding later. In total, 43 proposals received perfect scores. The funding success rate for this grant cycle is 97%.
Elizabeth Retamozo, NEC Principal & Executive Director, celebrated the success of her clients and her team during this grant cycle. Retamozo said, “Our success rate is a sign of great teamwork between the schools and our team. These grants are essential to colleges and universities, and our team has consistently worked collaboratively with our clients to help them achieve success. After building our team during the past few years, we’ve been able to consistently deliver for our clients, and we couldn’t be happier for them. To achieve a 97% success level for this grant truly is a mark of excellence to celebrate.”
Retamozo operates a firm with a national focus, helping a variety of non-profit agencies and institutions, from small to large and public to private with clients from coast to coast. She has more than 25 years of experience in the implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of federal and state-funded educational programs.
Building on this year’s success, Retamozo, and her team have developed additional technical assistance services to support clients after the grants are funded and to secure funding for new and existing clients in upcoming grant competitions, such as Talent Search and Educational Opportunity Centers. She said, “This is another way our excellent team can continue to work with our clients and provide great service to people and teams we have already developed winning relationships with during the past. We are excited about what we will be able to do in accomplishing even more for these deserving programs.”
Since 2007, NEC has had a successful track record (90%) of securing funding via new and continuation grant proposals, including Student Support Services, Talent Search, Educational Opportunity Centers, Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math and Science, McNair, and GEAR Up.
